The most natural way to pick up a new language is through the Direct Method, and using this to pick up Thai is the most straightforward and often the easiest for most people. It functions primarily on the basis of a question-answer format, in which the teacher introduces the student to a variety of new words and phrases each session, and then asks the students questions in Thai. This method allows the teacher to increase or reduce the complexity of questions asked, allowing lessons to be tailored to the individual strengths of students.
As each student response will be met by further instruction in both diction and pronunciation, most students see very rapid improvements in their capacity to speak Thai.
Further reinforcing your knowledge, you will be taught - right from the start - how to read and write in Thai. It sounds daunting, but it really isn't - the Thai script is beautiful, and learning each of the characters will further enforce each piece of language into your mind. At our school, romanized Thai is not taught, as we believe that using authentic characters in language acquisition hastens the learning process in a fun and manageable way.

The single most important thing that you can do as a foreign language student is to repeat, repeat, and repeat the words and ideas given to you - and then repeat them again! This helps to solidify the information in your mind for easy and fast retrieval.

The Order of Learning: Ear, Mouth, Eye, Hand
The easiest way to learn a language is the way every child learns their native language: first through the ear, then the mouth, then the eye and ultimately the hand. As children first hear their parents speaking the language, they begin to imitate what they hear. Later, as they have grow, children begin to see written words, and ultimately learning to write the words themselves.
Often, children repeat words that they hear that they do not understand - this is so that their mouths can learn to form the words. This is a great idea for you, too! Constantly asking "why?" and doubting your own knowledge can only hinder you in the process - sometimes, just repeating a new word over and over again will help you do all sorts of things with the language. Observation and imitation are extraordinarily quick ways to learn a language, but only if you're willing to dive into the process headfirst.
Poor Memory is Overcome by Constant Revision
Boredom and a bad memory are the arch-villains of learning. However, there lie ways to combat both of these issues, and CSIplanet Direct Method instructs you carefully in them each: boredom through speed, and poor memory through revision and repetition.
